The "Missing Link" series—virtual reissues of items that might have existed back in that era.
Its 5th release brings the narcissistic Sunstreaker.
Imagining "What if the original Sunstreaker had been fully poseable?", it has been given an entirely new design while keeping the size, texture, and nostalgia of the original.

While the size, transformation pattern, and basic construction—including some die-cast alloy parts—follow the original Sunstreaker toy, the joints for posing and gimmicks depicted in the anime have been updated, resulting in the ideal Sunstreaker toy.
From the packaging to the styrofoam tray, everything pays thorough homage to the era, reviving the excitement of opening a Transformers toy in the 1980s even more than a simple reissue would.
Sunstreaker was born as the very first Car Robots release and appeared as an early series member in the anime, but was never sold individually in Japan.
This product recreates an individual-sale box for the first time ever, and since no reissue exists either, this marks the long-awaited return of the original-era type after a full 39 years, since 1986.
Joints that were fixed in the original product have been changed to be articulated, allowing for free posing.
A newly added "Human/Worker type," which was not included back then.
It can ride in the mobile cockpit in both forms.
Recreating a scene from the anime, the Flare Gun, the same type of gun as Rumble's, is included in a chrome-plated finish.
Also, instead of the punch-firing gimmick, it has been updated to a fully-transforming design where the fist retracts into the arm.
What's more, a large attachable punch part that recreates the original spec is also included.
The familiar "Secret Emblem" is also applied to the robot body—warm it with your finger and the faction mark appears.
Areas that were stickers on the original toy are now recreated with relief sculpting and paint, and foil stickers you can apply if you prefer are also included, allowing you to change the shoulder color to metallic yellow.
A joint hole for a separately sold stand has been added to the back, allowing for display in action poses.
The package illustration is a newly drawn piece designed to evoke the era, and a collection card featuring the same illustration is also included.
