Hot Wheels Car Culture Japan Historics 4 '73 Honda Civic Custom Vehicle Toy Mini Car Ages 3+ Red HRV85
Description
[Contents] The first Honda Civic appeared in 1972, and today it has reached its 11th generation. While the current Civic has grown larger, the original was a compact car meant as a step up from kei cars, with a total length of about 3.5m and width of about 1.5m.
What made the first-generation Civic famous worldwide was its CVCC (Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion) technology, which achieved compliance with America's Muskie Act—said to be the strictest emissions regulation at the time—ahead of the rest of the world, achieving both environmental performance and nimble driving. As a result, it established an image—both in Japan and in America—of a car that felt clever just to drive and was also fun behind the wheel, gaining huge popularity especially among young people.
For this Hot Wheels model, the first generation serves as the base, with the front bumper removed and replaced with a chin spoiler and fog lamps, plus overfenders to accommodate wide tires, depicting a custom-styled version. Fine details such as the emblem, window trim, and front grille of the RS—a sport grade sold only in Japan—are recreated with detailed printing.
