[Contents] The Toyota 86, introduced in 2012, took its name from the model code (AE86) of the legendary Toyota Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno. It caused a sensation not only for the name but also for inheriting the basic layout of a compact 4-cylinder engine with rear-wheel drive.
Its successor debuted in 2021, and since it became an exclusive model of Toyota's high-performance vehicle brand, its name was changed to GR86.
The Toyota 86/GR86 was designed with motorsports use in mind, and its one-make race (Cup) has drawn attention as it is held in Japan, America, and other countries.
This Hot Wheels model is based on the machine of Toni Breidinger, a talented and beautiful female driver competing in the North American GR Cup race—a Cup car modified for racing specification.
